Forex license cost: official fees and capital by country.
What a forex licence costs in official money: the fee to apply, the fee on grant, the yearly fee and the minimum capital, taken from each regulator's own rules as of 23 October 2026. Where a regulator sets a capital minimum, it is usually the biggest number on the bill, and it stays in your company. Our own fee is quoted separately, after a free assessment.

Capital is the big number, and you keep it
Fees go to the regulator. Capital stays on your balance sheet, but it usually has to be paid in before the licence and kept there afterwards. In the EU the amount follows the way you execute: €75,000 for an agency broker that never holds client money, €150,000 once it does, €750,000 for dealing on own account, matched principal included. Offshore minimums are lower: US$100,000 in Seychelles, MUR 1,000,000 in Mauritius, RM1,000,000 in Labuan.
Places with no forex licence to pay for
Some quotes put a price on a licence the country does not issue. Check these before any money moves.

When forex license costs are paid
We match your dealing model and client countries to a licence and put the official costs and our fee in writing before anything is filed.
Incorporation first, then the capital: paid into a bank account or, in Vanuatu, deposited with the Commissioner before the licence is granted.
Paid with the file: US$3,000 in Seychelles, £11,260 for an FCA firm dealing as principal, A$7,537 online for an AFS licence with retail clients and high-complexity products.
Some regulators charge again at the end: VT 100,000 in Vanuatu, BZ$30,000 in Belize, CI$10,000 in the Cayman Islands, US$3,300 in the BVI.
Every year after that: VT 500,000 in Vanuatu by the incorporation anniversary, US$5,000 in Labuan, the FCA's periodic fee, ASIC's industry levy.
A new owner, new directors or new services need fresh approval and carry their own fees. The guide to buying a forex company sets out the rules by country.
A law firm, not a licence reseller.
The forex market is full of intermediaries selling flags by the unit. Including flags that are not licences at all. We are a legal and advisory firm: we tell you what a route actually buys, build the file the supervisor reads, and stay on it after the licence is issued.
60+ specialists work on applications directly. Lawyers, compliance and finance people, not an outsourcing chain of resellers.
Before you pay anyone, you get a written view of what the licence does, where its limits run, and whether it is a licence at all. We have written that opinion about offers already sitting on a client's desk.
The quote you approve is the price you pay. Government, regulator, audit and capital costs are stated separately and upfront.
Business plans, capital models, client-money and conduct architecture and AML/CFT packs drafted to the standards CySEC, the FCA, ASIC and the FSA actually check.
Fee and reporting calendars, renewals, representative filings, audits, and the migration path when a project outgrows the licence it started on.
The people who will prepare your file

15 years in FinTech and payments. Maps your dealing model to the right licence class and leads the file to the regulator's decision, including banking and payment rails.
Builds the application itself: the local company, AML/KYC policy pack, capital structure and tax registrations. His document sets are the reason reviews finish in months, not years.

Forex license cost: what clients ask before they budget.
How much does a forex license cost?+
It depends on the country and on how you execute trades. Application fees on this page run from nothing in Latvia and MUR 7,500 for a domestic dealer in Mauritius to €50,000 in Luxembourg, or up to €100,000 of hourly fees in the Netherlands. Capital is usually the larger number: US$100,000 in Seychelles, €75,000 to €750,000 in the EU, £750,000 for a UK principal dealer. Company set-up, staff and audit come on top, and so does our fee, which we fix in writing after a free assessment.
What is the cheapest forex license?+
Latvia charges nothing to apply. Among the rest, a domestic dealer in Mauritius pays least (MUR 7,500), then Vanuatu (VT 50,000) and Labuan (US$500); a Mauritian global business company pays US$1,000. The application fee is a small part of the bill, though: Latvia takes at least €5,000 a year, a domestic Mauritian dealer pays MUR 75,000 a year and holds MUR 1,000,000 of capital, Vanuatu wants a VT 5,000,000 deposit and VT 500,000 a year, Labuan US$5,000 a year and RM1,000,000 of paid-up capital. The cheapest licence is the one that actually covers the clients you plan to serve.
How much does a Seychelles forex license cost?+
US$3,000 to apply and a US$6,000 annual licence fee for a securities dealer, under S.I. 120 of 2024. Each representative adds US$500 to apply and US$750 a year. The company needs US$100,000 of paid-up capital, kept in a bank account at all times. The FSA aims to decide a complete file within 30 working days.
How much does a Vanuatu forex license cost?+
Under the Financial Dealers Licensing Act: VT 50,000 to apply, VT 100,000 before the licence is granted, then VT 500,000 every year by the anniversary of incorporation. The applicant deposits VT 5,000,000 with the Commissioner and keeps it there; the interest on the deposit belongs to the State. Insurance of at least VT 5,000,000 per claim is compulsory as well.
How much does a forex license cost in St Vincent?+
Nothing, because there is none to buy. The FSA of St Vincent and the Grenadines said in a warning notice of 2 February 2026 that it does not issue licences for forex trading or brokerage. A company formed there pays company fees only and still needs a licence where its clients are.
How much does a CySEC license cost?+
€7,000 to apply for a Cyprus Investment Firm licence, plus €500 per ancillary service. The yearly fee for a firm in the €750,000 capital tier is €10,000 fixed, plus €3,000 for CFD services and a part linked to turnover, capped at €150,000; in the first year it is charged pro rata. Capital is €75,000, €150,000 or €750,000 depending on the dealing model, and CySEC must decide within 6 months of a complete file.
How much does an FCA license cost?+
£11,260 to apply if the firm deals as principal (pricing category 6); an arranger or agency broker pays £2,820 (category 4). The yearly part starts after authorisation. The periodic fee begins at £2,200, and a principal dealer adds £8,922.80 for each trader above the first in 2026/27. Capital under MIFIDPRU is £750,000 for dealing on own account and £150,000 or £75,000 for agency models, and the FCA must decide within 6 months of a complete application.
Is minimum capital a fee?+
No. Capital is your company's own money and stays on its balance sheet, though it cannot drop below the minimum. A fee goes to the regulator for good. Vanuatu sits in between: the VT 5,000,000 is deposited with the Commissioner and must stay there, and the interest on it goes to the State.
What does a forex license cost every year?+
US$6,000 in Seychelles, VT 500,000 in Vanuatu, US$3,400 in Mauritius plus US$2,600 for the Global Business Licence, US$5,000 in Labuan for a new money broker, CI$10,000 in the Cayman Islands, BZ$30,000 in Belize and US$3,300 per sub-category in the BVI. In the UK the FCA's periodic fee starts at £2,200; in Australia ASIC's levy on a retail OTC derivatives issuer was A$166,679 for the full 2024-25 year.
How much do you charge for a forex license?+
We fix our fee in writing after the free assessment, once the country, the dealing model and the client countries are settled. Official fees and capital are shown separately, so you can check them against the regulator's own schedule.
