Jordan in brief

Everything priced, in public, in one table.

Jordan licenses financial services companies through the Jordan Securities Commission, and it publishes the price list. Minimum paid-in capital runs JD 30,000 for financial advisory, JD 50,000 for investment trusteeship or issuance trusteeship, JD 500,000 for a dealer or for issuance management on a best-efforts basis, JD 750,000 for a financial broker, JD 1,000,000 for investment management, margin finance or safe custody, and JD 5,000,000 for issuance management with full coverage. The rule that catches most applicants sits underneath the table: where a company is licensed for more than one activity, its capital must equal the sum of the individual requirements, not the highest of them. Individuals are registered too - administratively on competence and repute, technically on a degree, Commission examinations and an approved course, with waivers available for the genuinely experienced.

The commercial case is a small, stable, well-run market with an outsized professional bench. Amman has served as the region's back office and advisory centre for decades: bilingual professionals, a functioning exchange, a legal system that works and costs a fraction of the Gulf's. For advisory boutiques at JD 30,000, asset managers building a Levant book, and groups wanting a regional operating company that is genuinely licensed rather than nominally registered, Jordan offers rare clarity - you can compute the entry price before the first meeting. We build the JSC file end to end.

Everything priced in public: JSC licences with published paid-in capital - JD 30,000 advisory, JD 50,000 trusteeship, JD 500,000 dealer, JD 750,000 broker, JD 1,000,000 management, custody or margin finance, JD 5,000,000 full-coverage issuance.

Combined activities require the sum, not the maximum. Individuals register administratively or technically, with exams and possible waivers. Built end to end from Amman.

The two builds

Financial advisory at JD 30,000 - or investment management at JD 1 million.

The JSC's table is the design tool: pick the activities, add the capital. The summing rule makes perimeter discipline worth real money.

FAQ

The Jordanian investment licence: the practical answers.

What licences does the JSC issue?+

Financial services licences by activity: brokerage, dealing, investment trusteeship, investment management, financial advisory, issuance management, margin finance, issuance trusteeship and safe custody, plus anything else the Commission specifies.

What capital is required?+

Published minimum paid-in capital: JD 30,000 for financial advisory, JD 50,000 for investment or issuance trusteeship, JD 500,000 for a dealer or best-efforts issuance management, JD 750,000 for a financial broker, JD 1,000,000 for investment management, margin finance or custody, and JD 5,000,000 for issuance management with full coverage.

What happens if we want several activities?+

The capital equals the sum of the individual requirements, not the highest. Management plus brokerage is JD 1,750,000, which is why we price the permission set before requesting it.

Do individuals need to be registered?+

Yes, in two forms. Administrative registration requires competence and good reputation. Technical registration requires a bachelor's degree, passing the Commission's examinations, completing an approved course and paying the fees.

Can the examination requirement be waived?+

The Board may waive the examination and course requirements for candidates who are highly qualified or sufficiently experienced - an argument worth making properly where the record supports it.

How long does licensing take?+

Realistically 6-12 months including preparation, with registrations of individuals often running alongside the corporate file.

How are Jordanian firms taxed?+

Corporate tax applies at sector-based rates with a national contribution, general sales tax per published treatment and withholding on outbound payments reduced by treaty. We confirm current rates per structure.

Why Jordan rather than a Gulf centre?+

Transparency and cost: the capital table is published in dinars and the professional bench costs a fraction of Gulf salaries. The market is smaller - that is the real trade.

Is Jordan suitable as a regional operating company?+

Yes - a genuinely licensed Amman company with bilingual staff is a credible regional operating base, and considerably more substantial than a registered address elsewhere.

Why Prifinance for Jordan?+

The activity arithmetic run before anything is requested, registrations prepared alongside the corporate file, and waiver arguments made where the record justifies them - from our Amman office.

What licences?+

Nine JSC activities.

Capital?+

JD 30k-JD 5M published.

Several activities?+

Capital is the sum.

Individuals?+

Administrative or technical.

Exam waiver?+

Possible if experienced.

How long?+

6-12 months realistic.

Taxes?+

Sector rate + contribution.

Why not the Gulf?+

Price and transparency.

Regional base?+

Yes - genuinely licensed.

Why you?+

Arithmetic run first.
