Liechtenstein wrote the world's first comprehensive blockchain law - the TVTG, in force since 2020 and run by the FMA. It registers eleven types of token and trusted-technology service providers, and as an EEA state it now coordinates with EU-wide MiCA. You get legal certainty, a 12.5% flat tax, Swiss-franc banking and an EU passport. We build the registration and the MiCA path together.
Updated
The original blockchain law, now inside the EEA.
Liechtenstein was first in the world to enact a comprehensive, technology-neutral blockchain law - the Token and Trusted Technology Service Provider Act, the TVTG, in force since 1 January 2020 and supervised by the FMA. Its Token Container Model treats a token as a container of rights, which gives real legal certainty to issuance and transfer. The FMA registers and supervises eleven types of TT service providers - among them token issuers, TT exchange service providers and token custodians - each entered in the TT Service Provider Register against fit-and-proper, IT-security and AML standards.
What makes Liechtenstein different from the offshore routes is the EEA. As a member of the European Economic Area, it is inside the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, MiCA - so a crypto-asset service provider is authorised under MiCA with the FMA as competent authority and can passport across the whole EEA, while the TVTG continues to govern the wider token economy and coordinates with the MiCA whitepaper and notification rules. What you build is a Liechtenstein company, the right TT register entry, and the MiCA authorisation where the activity is a crypto-asset service - on a 12.5% flat tax, in Swiss francs, with banking and a reputation that open European doors.
The world's first blockchain law: the TVTG, run by the FMA since 2020, with eleven TT service-provider roles.
As an EEA state, MiCA applies too - a CASP is authorised with the FMA and passports across Europe. Flat 12.5% tax, Swiss francs.
Register the role - authorise for the service.
Two layers that work together. The TVTG registers eleven trusted-technology roles; MiCA authorises the crypto-asset services that passport across the EEA. We map the model onto both and file what the activity truly needs.

Exchange service provider
Exchanging tokens for fiat or other tokens - a TT exchange service under the TVTG, and a crypto-asset service under MiCA, authorised with the FMA and passportable across the EEA.
FMA registration ~3-6 months: business plan, IT-security concept, AML. Minimum capital by role.

Token custodian
Safekeeping tokens or the keys to them - a TT custodian role, and MiCA's custody-and-administration service, held to the segregation and safeguarding both require.

The TVTG lists eleven TT roles in all - issuer, exchange, custodian and others such as validators and key depositaries. FMA registration takes roughly three to six months, needs a business plan, an IT-security concept and an AML programme, and carries minimum capital for the roles that require it. Fees are confirmed for your case before any work begins.
EEA access with real legal certainty.

The Liechtenstein crypto regime, answered honestly.
What is the TVTG?+
The Token and Trusted Technology Service Provider Act - Liechtenstein's «Blockchain Act», in force since 2020 and the world's first comprehensive, technology-neutral framework of its kind. The FMA registers eleven TT service-provider roles under it.
How does MiCA fit in?+
Liechtenstein is in the EEA, so MiCA applies. A crypto-asset service is authorised under MiCA with the FMA as competent authority and passports across the whole EEA, while the TVTG governs the wider token economy. We coordinate the two.
Which do I need - TVTG or MiCA?+
Usually both, mapped to the activity. Issuance and the broader token roles sit under the TVTG; exchange, custody and other crypto-asset services need MiCA authorisation for the passport. We tell you which before you spend.
What is the EU passport worth?+
It is the whole point of paying European tax. A MiCA authorisation lets you serve clients across the EEA from Liechtenstein - reach no offshore registration can give you.
How is it taxed?+
A flat 12.5% corporate rate - one of Europe's lowest - in Swiss francs. Higher than an offshore zero, but it buys full EEA market access, which is the trade you are actually making.
How long does it take?+
The TT register entry runs roughly three to six months, with the MiCA authorisation coordinated alongside. A file with the business plan, IT-security concept and AML in order is what keeps the FMA review moving.
Liechtenstein or an offshore route?+
It depends on your market. If you serve the EEA, Liechtenstein's passport is decisive; if you serve the world and want 0%, an offshore registration may fit better. We model both against your clients and flows.
Why Liechtenstein with you?+
Because the outcome turns on the file - the TT role, the MiCA scope, the IT security and the AML. We build Liechtenstein applications to the standard the FMA and the banks read, which is what makes the registration and passport usable.
