Canada in brief

First-world reputation, partnership-level taxation.

Canada needs no introduction to banks, marketplaces or payment providers - a G7 economy with common-law courts and one of the most trusted business registries anywhere. What fewer founders know is that Canadian provinces offer partnership structures with no entity-level tax: an Ontario Limited Partnership or a British Columbia LLP passes its profits straight to the partners.

For non-resident partners earning income outside Canada, that means no Canadian corporate tax, no provincial tax and, in the standard case, no Canadian tax filings at all - while the company itself carries Canadian registration documents that open doors from Amazon and Stripe to European counterparties. Setup is light: no minimum capital, no audited accounts, a registered provincial address we provide, and registration within days.

Canada is a G7 economy whose registry documents every bank and marketplace trusts. Provincial partnerships - the Ontario LP and BC LLP - pass profits straight to the partners with no entity-level tax.

For non-resident partners with foreign income that means no Canadian tax and, in the standard case, no Canadian filings - with registration in days, no minimum capital and no audits.

Why Canada

Key advantages of the jurisdiction.

Taxation 2026

FAQ

The Canadian LP, clarified.

Can I open a Canadian LP without visiting Canada?+

Yes. Everything is signed electronically and filed with the provincial registry; original documents are couriered to you after registration.

How much does it cost?+

Turnkey registration starts from $2,000 including government fees, the partnership agreement and the first year of the registered address. With an account arranged, packages start from $3,600.

How is an LP taxed at 0%?+

A partnership is fiscally transparent - it pays no tax itself. Profits belong to the partners, and when the partners are non-residents and the income is earned outside Canada, there is nothing for Canada to tax. Partners declare income where they live; we map that before you commit.

Does the LP file Canadian tax returns?+

In the standard case - non-resident partners, no Canadian-source income, no Canadian employees - no Canadian tax return is required. If you later sell into Canada, GST/HST and filing duties can arise; we monitor this with you.

How long does registration take?+

Ontario registers most LPs within two to five business days after the name search; apostilled documents follow within a week.

Do I need a Canadian partner or director?+

No. Both partners can be foreign individuals or companies, and an LP has no directors at all - the general partner manages it. One person can be both general and limited partner.

Ontario LP or BC LLP - which one?+

Ontario LP is the default: fastest, cheapest, best-known. The BC LLP adds limited liability for every partner, which suits professional-services firms. Same price with us - the default is Ontario, and we'll tell you if your case argues for BC.

Will banks and marketplaces accept it?+

Canadian entities are among the easiest to onboard: Amazon, Stripe, Shopify and EU counterparties treat them as first-world companies. Traditional Canadian bank branches prefer resident businesses, so day-to-day banking usually runs through multi-currency EMIs.

Canada LP or UK LLP?+

Both are transparent with 0% for non-residents. The UK LLP must publish annual accounts at Companies House; the Canadian LP publishes nothing. The UK wins on payment infrastructure, Canada on privacy and marketplace geography - pick by where your buyers are.

What happens after registration each year?+

The registered address renewal and, in Ontario, a five-yearly re-filing of the declaration; BC LLPs file a short annual report. No accounts, no audits - we run the calendar for you.
