Ten, ten, ten - and a registry that doesn't make you wait.
North Macedonia runs one of Europe's simplest tax systems: 10% flat on corporate profits, 10% flat on personal income, 10% on dividends - no brackets, no municipal surcharges, no arithmetic gymnastics. The Central Registry's one-stop incorporates a DOOEL in days, the €5,000 capital is payable within a year rather than upfront, and the denar has been pegged to the euro for decades. For manufacturers the state goes further: the TIDZ free zones hand qualifying investors ten-year holidays on profit and payroll taxes, the reason German automotive suppliers dot the Skopje corridor.
Scale first. The home market is 1.8 million people; you register here for the tax simplicity, the zone economics or Balkan operations, not domestic scale. The EU candidacy is Europe's longest-running: NATO membership arrived in 2020, accession talks opened in 2022, and the road since has been slow, which we say rather than sell. Administration runs in Macedonian through local notaries and banks (Komercijalna, NLB, Stopanska) that KYC foreigners properly. Reinvested profits earn extra relief, wages are among the continent's most affordable - the arithmetic case is real, and we model it before you commit.
Europe's simplest system: 10/10/10 with no brackets or surcharges - ~19% all-in to the owner. One-stop registry in days, denar pegged to the euro for decades, reinvested profits deductible, and TIDZ zones handing manufacturers a decade at zero.
1.8M people at home: you come for the simplicity, the zones or Balkan ops. The EU candidacy is Europe's longest (NATO since 2020, talks since 2022, slow since). Admin runs in Macedonian; banks KYC properly.

Talk to a specialist →The Macedonian questions, all ten.
Can I open a Macedonian company without visiting?+
Yes. With an apostilled power of attorney our Skopje team handles the notary, translations and the Central Registry's one-stop filing. Banks prefer to know their clients: some onboard by video, some want one meeting, and we book the right one.
How much does it cost?+
Turnkey registration starts from €1,700 including registry fees, translations and the first year of the registered address. With a bank account arranged, packages start from €3,000. Renewal with basic accounting runs from €1,300 a year.
What taxes will I actually pay?+
10% on company profit, then 10% on dividends - about 19% all-in to your pocket. If you relocate, personal income tax is the same flat 10%. VAT is 18% with reduced bands. No municipal profit taxes exist. It is one of Europe's easiest systems to model, and we still model it with you.
Do I need to pay the €5,000 capital upfront?+
No - the Macedonian nicety: capital is declared at founding and payable within one year. Most clients fund it earlier for banking optics, but the law respects your cash flow. Nothing is blocked; the money works once contributed.
What are the TIDZ free zones?+
Technological Industrial Development Zones, the state's manufacturing magnet: qualifying investors receive ten-year holidays on profit and payroll taxes, plus customs and utility advantages, in return for real investment and jobs. Automotive suppliers built the model. Zone status is negotiated per project, and we run that negotiation.
How does the reinvestment relief work?+
Profits reinvested in tangible and intangible business assets (equipment, machinery, software) reduce the taxable base, stacking growth incentives on top of the already-flat 10%. For manufacturers outside the zones it materially trims effective rates, and we document the claims properly.
Is the denar stable?+
The denar has been pegged to the euro (and the Deutschmark before it) for decades, defended through every regional storm. For planning purposes you operate in euros at Balkan costs - most contracts and rents quote in euros anyway.
How is banking?+
Solid and conservative: Komercijalna Banka, NLB and Stopanska (EBRD-linked) run the market with MKD and EUR accounts. Foreign-owned companies pass real KYC: ownership chain, business story, sometimes a meeting. We prepare the file and set up the introductions.
North Macedonia or Bosnia / Bulgaria?+
Bosnia matches the 10% with a lower VAT but two legal systems and slower courts. Bulgaria's 10% comes with EU membership, at higher wages and stricter banks. Macedonia wins on system simplicity, registry speed and the TIDZ zones. Manufacturers weigh zones against EU access; services usually pick by cost.
How long does it take?+
The one-stop registry works in days: plan 2-5 business days from complete documents to a registered company with tax numbers, plus a few days for VAT. Banking adds one to two weeks. TIDZ projects run their own negotiation calendar, started before the company itself.
