Economic rights and obligations of citizens are described in articles \u211635-43 and 55-59.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-block\">\n<h2>There are also the following groups of laws, conducting business in the Slovak Republic<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>commercial law,<\/li>\n<li>company law,<\/li>\n<li>labor law,<\/li>\n<li>tax law,<\/li>\n<li>banking law.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-block\">\n<h2>Among them the most important for the foreign entrepreneurs are:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cOn Entrepreneurship\u201d &#8211; the law spells out the types of entrepreneurial activity and requirements for their conduct;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOn accounting\u201d &#8211; the law spells out requirements for maintaining accounting documentation;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOn income tax\u201d &#8211; the law governing income tax rates;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOn Value Added Tax (VAT)\u201d &#8211; the law governing VAT rates;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOn consumer protection\u201d &#8211; the law spells out requirements for the quality of products and services, the safety of their use, as well as information about the manufacturer.<\/li>\n<li>\u00abOn the Stay of Foreigners\u00bb &#8211; regulates the stay of foreigners in Slovakia on the basis of various types of visas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-block\">\n<h2>In addition, entrepreneurial activity is also regulated by the following normative acts<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Commercial Code &#8211; defines the types of legal entities and contracts, as well as general requirements for transactions in the business process;<\/li>\n<li>Civil Code &#8211; defines the principles for concluding various types of transactions, family law and inheritance conditions;<\/li>\n<li>Labor Code &#8211; defines the conditions for the preparation of an employment contract, the norms of working hours, wages, vacation time, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Acts on Investment Incentives, technical requirements for products, conformity assessment, Regulation in Network Industries, Consumer Protection, Product Liability, The Trades Licencing Act, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-block\">\n<h2>You can register a company in Slovakia in four legal forms<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Limited Liability Company &#8211; s.r.o. There is a system of self-determination of the amount of tax in Slovakia. Income tax is determined on the basis of an annual declaration, which must be filed by a company\u2019s director annually within 3 months after the end of the tax period. In case of non-compliance with tax laws, there are following sanctions: pennies, fines (up to EUR 32,000) or a % of the unpaid tax.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-block\">\n<h2>List of taxes should be included in the annual financial statements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Income taxes: income tax (for legal entities &#8211; 21%), corporate income tax &#8211; 22%<\/li>\n<li>Value added tax (VAT) &#8211; 20%;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>*except insurance and financial services &#8211; 10%.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excise taxes.<\/li>\n<li>Local taxes: corporate income tax &#8211; 22%, real estate tax &#8211; 0,033 euro \/ m\u00b2, land tax &#8211; 0.25 euro \/ m\u00b2.<\/li>\n<li>Special fees for regulated activities.<\/li>\n<li>Tax on dividends (0-35% in various cases).<\/li>\n<li>Real estate (for owners or tenants).<\/li>\n<li>Social tax &#8211; 35.2%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>For more information contact our consultant Prifinance<\/i><\/p>\n<p>To open a business, foreigners as well as a Slovak citizen need to prepare some documents.
